In addition to being a high-performance sports surface, SP Polyurethane floors also boasts superior resistance to wear and tear caused by non-sporting activities. This provides sports hall owners with a huge variety of additional options for utilising their sports halls, such as concerts, dances, trade shows and examinations.
Thanks to its impressive performance and low maintenance requirements, Polyurethane flooring has already been the indoor sports surface of choice for thousands of locations worldwide, including more than 500 schools and leisure centres in the UK. It has also been approved for competition play by a number of sporting organisations, including:
- The National Olympic Committee (as a hockey surface)

Common Questions Answered About Pulastic Flooring
Q) Can I use tables and chairs on this floor
A) Yes, due to the elasticity in the polyurethane the deformation created from loads bounces straight back.
Q) Do Pulastic floors reach all governing body standards for all sports?
A) Certainly the Pulastic range can cater for all sports and reach all guide lines needed, however some clients choose to reduce performance for some sports to enhance for others such as roller sports or wheel chair sports.
Q) Are there any ongoing costly refurbishment works?
A) Unlike the timber floors the Pulastic systems don’t need to be refurbished which is a huge saving. In fact after 20 years you don’t even need to replace the floor, just have a simple face lift to gain another 20 years.
Q) I often have complaints from my users regarding the glare on my shiny floors from the lights, will Pulastic floors have the same issues?
A) Because the top finishing coat is painted, this leaves a Matt finish resulting in a great surface visually to play on. No glare, no problems.
Q) Is Pulastic more expensive than a timber or vinyl floor?
A) Timber, Polyurethane and Vinyl or offer different systems with different benefits, however an average size 4 court sports hall would be very similar between all 3 different materials.
