(UKA Trackmark Unit 2 inspection)

• Indoor Throws Area
  Inspect Netting – check fit for purpose, any defects, check hanging of net and operation, check supports can take loadings.
• Long Jump/ Triple Jump
  Check take-off boards, filler boards and troughs; Check landing area for appropriate depth and dimensions.
• High Jump
  Check posts, height adjustments and all moving components including casters. Check stability and also wear on components; Check landing areas for breaks in material and integrity of internal foam, check wear-mat
  and all attachments.
• Sports Netting
  Inspect netting, check hanging of net and operation, check supports can take loadings
• Pole-vault area
  Inspect Posts – appropriate padding, height adjustment mechanism operational, bar sits level, horizontal adjustments operate correctly, stability, tapes visible, winder mechanisms, anchoring sufficient and safe.
  Landing Areas – for breaks in material and integrity of internal foam, check wear-mat and all attachments.
• Trolleys, Carts and Storage
  Check operational, all moving parts and fit for purpose
• Hurdles
  Check counterbalances operational, check hurdle tops secure, check rubber bungs and feet, check stability
• Umpires stands
  Check stability, all parts present, wheeling mechanisms
• Plyometric boxes
  Stability and surfaces intact
• Floor anchors
  Stable, not causing trip hazard and fit for purpose
• Starting blocks
  Length adjustments operate, foot-blocks wear & stability
• Hammer cage
  Check netting Is it fit for purpose, any defects, check hanging of net and operation, check supports can take loadings, check all pulley mechanisms, check ropes, check 1m distance requirements for implements hitting uprights, check all anchors, where collapsible check this is safely secured upright and operational, check gate dimensions and operation, check all uprights, check high
  level bracings. Check compliances to UKA and/or specifications
• Steeple chase
  Check wooden beam, check anchorage of uprights, check height adjustment
• Track Surface
  Check of track surface to identify any repairs required, resurfacing or deep cleaning.
• General Inclusions
  All nuts and bolts tightened in required, and low level adjustments undertaken if easily accessible, low level lubrication undertaken where necessary, identify compliance with BS EN 1892. Check compliance where
  indicated with UK Athletics and Sport England/ Scotland/ Wales Guidelines
