Practising What They Preach
Directors of Sport & Play Win Awards in Their Disciplines
The two Directors of Sport & Play, Chris Vacher and Mark Cullingford have both recently won awards from the sports clubs to which they belong. With the Company only just over one year old, they are not only working hard but also playing hard. Chris, who coaches one of the senior football teams for Maresfield FC was recently presented with the John Spurgeon award by the club. This is in recognition of his contribution to the football club during the last year, because of the success of his particular team in the past season.
Meanwhile, Mark, who is the Operations Director of Sport & Play, was recently awarded Player of the Year at his local rugby club. This is the Uckfield RFC, and is based in the town where Mark both lives and works for Sport & Play. In addition to their playing careers, with the recent move to new premises, the Company is also going from strength to strength. In addition to the move of offices, additional staff are also being recruited to handle the increase in demand for the Company’s products and services. The trend continues. With the summer cricket season now underway, Chris and Mark are playing cricket for the Uckfield team. What is more, further cementing their partnership, the two are opening batsmen for the club. |

Sport & Play Sponsor Local Inter-Schools Cricket Competition
Encouraging involvement and participation at a local level, close to their home, Sport & Play recently sponsored a cricket tournament for the North Wealden Schools Support Partnership. Two competitions took place on one day, for Year 8 and for Year 9 students, with participating teams from the secondary schools at Uckfield, Crowborough and Heathfield. The matches were held at the home ground of the Anderida Cricket Club, Victoria Pleasure Group, in the north of Uckfield. Members of the cricket club provided the umpires with support also from Ian Wright, of Bells Yew Green Cricket Club and Chris Vacher, the Managing Director of Sport & Play. The Year 8 event was won by Uckfield Community Technical College, whilst the Year 9 competition was won by Crowborough Beacon Community College. Both teams now go through to play in the quarter finals against the top teams from the Hastings and Rother Schools Support Partnership. Although Sport & Play is a relatively new company in the market for sport, leisure and play centre maintenance and equipment supply, they already like to support local sporting initiatives of this nature. Sport & Play Move to New Premises
Under a year after launching the business, Sport & Play have already outgrown their existing offices and moved to new premises.
The Company, that supplies equipment plus maintenance and servicing facilities for all forms of leisure applications, has moved to a new site two miles from their previous base.
Demand for the Company’s existing products and services, plus recent additions to the range, has resulted in the need to take on further office based staff and hence a requirement for extra space. The new premises also allow plenty of room for further expansion.
Sport & Play’s core strength lies in the provision of ongoing maintenance, annual servicing and an emergency call out repair service for many forms of equipment used in leisure centres, gymnasiums, play areas, indoor play centres, etc.
However, the company can also supply both new and reconditioned equipment as part of their overall package.
The new premises are located at:
Unit 24 Crockstead Estate,
Eastbourne Road,
Halland,
Uckfield,
East Sussex,
BN8 6NT.
The new telephone number of 0845 873 7712 is already in operation, although calls to the previous number are automatically being diverted.
Commented Chris Vacher, Managing Director: “We really had outgrown our previous office. The new premises give us substantially more room both for existing staff and to grow the business, as we expect to do over the coming months and years.”
